Overhead Gantry Crane - Refresher

Service Description

DISCLAIMER:  Overwatch Solutions are an approved organisation, whose assessors are registered with Port and Crane Academy of New Zealand (PCANZ)  Learners are enrolled with PCANZ and are assessed by our PCANZ registered assessors  Results are reported to NZQA by PCANZ and recorded on learners’ New Zealand Record of Achievement (NZROA) ATTENDANCE NUMBERS:  Min 4  Max 8 DURATION:  4 hours (experienced operator) PURPOSE: This course is designed to verify and refresh the trainee’s current competence. The training will include assessment activities aimed to reinforce the skills required to safely operate a Gantry Crane. Trainees will also be updated on any changes to relevant regulations and Crane industry best practice. REFRESHER INFORMATION: To remain compliant with Health and Safety legislation and industry best practice guidelines, trainees are generally required to refresh their training every three years. When booking a refresher course, Overwatch Solutions will require evidence of the trainees qualification for the course they are attending. On successful completion of the course the trainee will be reissued a certificate of achievement with a new refresher date. (Please note: No qualifications will be reported or uploaded). LEARNING OUTCOMES:  Demonstrate knowledge and use of a radio remote or pendant controlled Gantry Crane, their components, equipment, and attachments  Sling, lift, travel, and unload or place regular loads using a radio remote or pendant controlled Gantry Crane  Park radio remote or pendant controlled Gantry Crane and store equipment  Carry out daily and weekly operator maintenance of a radio remote or pendant controlled Gantry Crane  Complete practical tasks to assess competency and confidence in simulated exercises REFRESHED QUALIFICATION:  Unit Standard 3800 - Use a radio remote or pendant controlled gantry crane to lift and place regular loads PREREQUISITE:  If you did not complete your original training with Overwatch Solutions then we will require evidence of competency.
