DISCLAIMER: Overwatch Solutions are an approved organisation, whose assessors are registered with EarnLearn-Te Pukenga Learners are enrolled with EarnLearn-Te Pukenga and are assessed by our EarnLearn-Te Pukenga registered assessors Results are reported to NZQA by EarnLearn-Te Pukenga and recorded on learners’ New Zealand Record of Achievement (NZROA) ATTENDANCE NUMBERS: Min 4 Max 8 DURATION: 8 hours PURPOSE: This course will enable trainees to demonstrate and apply knowledge to safely operate a Gantry Crane. Our practical learning will confirm the skills needed to conduct daily pre-start checks, evaluate lifting equipment, interpret Working Load Limit (WLL) tables and safe Crane operation. Trainees will also gain insight of relevant regulations, codes of practice and Crane industry best practice. LEARNING OUTCOMES: Demonstrate knowledge and use of a radio remote or pendant controlled Gantry Crane, their components, equipment, and attachments Sling, lift, travel, and unload or place regular loads using a radio remote or pendant controlled Gantry Crane Park radio remote or pendant controlled Gantry Crane and store equipment Carry out daily and weekly operator maintenance of a radio remote or pendant controlled Gantry Crane Complete practical tasks to assess competency and confidence in simulated exercises QUALIFICATION: Unit Standard 3800 - Operate a radio remote or pendant controlled overhead crane and lift and place regular loads PREREQUISITES: Note: Please refer to the EarnLearn-Te Pukenga website to view all qualifications and prerequisites for Crane courses: Sling Regular Loads Safely Overhead Gantry Crane Truck Loader Crane (HiAB) Rigging & Slinging (Dogman) COSTS: $500 (Ex GST) p/p Note: Company booked course establishment fees apply: Less than 2 hrs return travel $150.00/ day Greater than 2 hrs return travel $300.00/ day
