Service Description

DISCLAIMER:  Overwatch Solutions are an approved organisation, whose assessors are registered with Port and Crane Academy New Zealand (PCANZ)  Learners are enrolled with Port and Crane Academy New Zealand (PCANZ) and are assessed by our Port and Crane Academy New Zealand (PCANZ) registered assessors  Results are reported to NZQA by Port and Crane Academy New Zealand (PCANZ) and recorded on learners’ New Zealand Record of Achievement (NZROA) ATTENDANCE NUMBERS:  Min 4  Max 8 DURATION:  8 hours PURPOSE: Our courses will ensure you understand best practice guidelines and regulations to safely assess and operate a MEWP. It also includes a series of practical exercises where you will apply and test your knowledge of hazards, risk management, machine pre-use inspection and operational skills. LEARNING OUTCOMES:  Demonstrate knowledge of types of MEWP’s  Their suitability for purpose  Safety features  Legislative requirements in relation to code of practice and the use of MEWP’s  Assess the worksite and prepare to use the relevant MEWP  How to identify and report faults and damage for the MEWP  How to shut down the MEWP UNIT STANDARD/S:  23966 - Describe types of elevating work platforms and legislative requirements for their use (Pre-requisite unit standard)  23960 - Assess the worksite, prepare and operate an elevated work platform (scissor lift).  23961 - Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a truck-mounted elevating work platform  23962 - Assess the worksite, prepare and operate an elevated work platform (boom lift).  23963 - Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a trailer-mounted elevating work platform  23964 - Assess the worksite, prepare and operate an elevated work platform (vertical lift) Note: Only two machine combinations and the theory qualification can be refreshed in half a day. You will need to specify which combination you require during booking.
